We’re a family of six who loves to find the adventure in whatever it is we’re doing! We want adventure to constantly be a part of our daily rhythm, hence the name Rhythm of Adventure! Adventures keeps life fun and interesting, so we hope that you’ll join us as we share both big and small adventures, some near and some far!

rachel and justin “raeburn and jumbles”
Justin and Rachel met during their first semester of nursing school and fell in love the minute they set eyes on each other. They were married the summer after graduation in August of 2013. During the time they dated, they started something they called “Adventure Club”. They made t-shirts and gave each other nicknames, “Raeburn and Jumbles”. They started a list, an adventure list, of all the things they wanted to accomplish together. When one thing got crossed off, they’d have to add another. Eventually “Adventure Club” got changed to Rhythm of Adventure and well, here we are!
josiah “Danger”
Danger isn’t actually his middle name, but it almost was. Like my mother used to say, “You give a 17 year old a child and they’ll come up with some ridiculous names”. So now it’s his fake middle name that he uses like a real one, because I mean who doesn’t want to say “my middle name is danger!” when someone asks. Josiah has adventure in his blood just like his Momma and Daddy O and is always asking when we’re going to live on a sailboat in the Caribbean. “One day soon”, I tell him, “One day soon”. He’s got sick drawing skills, but he won’t tell you that. And if you’re into this crazy thing called mathematics, he’ll ask you problems all day. Other interests include legos and basketball.
scarlet “princess”
Where do I begin…she is our wild child, our free spirit, strong-willed, wildflower. Everyone has one of those, right?? She’ll say hi to anyone, she’ll pet any animal, and she’ll be sure to be completely naked for as long as we’ll allow it. If she’s not naked, she's running around in her 4th dress of the day and rain boots, or no shoes at all. Scarlet is like a sour patch: sour and sweet. Her favorite color is pink and her favorite food is ice cream.
Bennett “Benny boy”
His personality is certainly evolving. First he was sweet, smiling-all-the-time Bennett. Now I’m not sure if he’s going to become goofy Bennett or mischievous Bennett. Only time will tell. His favorite things include anything that starts with the letter B: balls, bikes, boots, boobs, butts, “ba-ba” (milk), binky, etc etc. Bennett and Scarlet are 15 months apart which makes them either best friends or enemies depending on their mood.
Jacob “Jakey Poo”
If you think Bennett smiles a lot, you have to meet Jacob. For someone who was in heart failure and had open heart surgery at less than a month old, you’d think he would have a different disposition. It’s like he knows he was saved from death and has the joy of the Lord. This kid smiles at you like he can see into your soul. He smiles at you like you’re the most beautiful person in the world. He smiles at you like you’ve got something all over your face and he can’t help but laugh. Don’t grow up, Jacob!
